In November 2020, Goodman Masson alongside 7 recruitment companies came together to discuss removing the inequalities in which are restricting the engagement of black talent in the recruitment sector
Nine months later… Programme One was born to address the underrepresentation of individuals from a black heritage background within the recruitment industry.

All forms of discrimination are significant…Eliminating systemic racism across Asian, Black and all minority ethnic groups is a long term ambition, yet it is people with Black heritage who are often found most disadvantaged.
Programme One partners with recruitment agencies who are all collectively committed to removing the barriers in which black talent face when applying for roles within recruitment

For every Black recruit hired there is a commitment that they have access to a mentor
A commitment to widening our talent attraction methods and techniques
Programme One is led by Jasmine Alexander and Atta Gyedu; Atta joined Programme One in 2022 to bring the talent flow through the project and tap into various black networks such as universities, faith groups and sports clubs.
Following this, Jasmine joined the project in 2023 to support the search for black talent as well as bringing focus to retaining and progressing talent.
Atta and Jasmine have supported over 50 candidates from Black heritage backgrounds find a role in recruitment and have increased the number of partner agencies to over 18 organisations.
